Heidsieck & C° Monopole (and Charles Heidsieck) can trace their origins back to the energies of enigmatic German Florenz-Ludwig Heidsieck. The House established its independence in 1834 when, upon Florenz`s recommendation, nephew Henri-Louis Walbaum started up in business as Walbaum, Heidsieck & Co. The famous Monopole brand was finally registered in 1860, but did not form part of the trading name until 1923.
