The 96 is the most fabulous of champagnes I'm glad I got a couple of bottles drunk when I did it is the proverbial party on the tongue have tasted other vintages of the dom but not the same. Citrus vanilla pepper every area of the tongue stimulated in an explosion of taste just hold it in your mouth and push your tongue through it! Got one bottle of the 96 left and saving it for something really special!

This stuff is too expensive. Yeah it tasted ok, but give me some cheap Asti Spumante and i am set, i mean they all taste the same anyways!

I too had the pleasure of tasting 96 vintage and I was quite impressed with the soft clean blend of almonds with a hint of sweet grapes. I have been becoming more of a fan of Dom in the past few years and what I have tasted in the 1990 vintage, was pure perfection. I have yet to taste a champagne quite like this although at the retail price you should expect a taste of heaven.
Cheers

Very fruity taste and aroma. Lingering tingle on your tongue for at least a day even after brushing your teeth! Nutty almond flavors are subtle in the beginning but strawberry overwhelms as the flute is finished. Overall a great champagne, Perrier is a better bang for buck but Dom is Dom and 96 is surely more powerful than 92.
