Champagne Grape Blend:

34% Chardonnay, 66% Pinot Noir

Features:

Seventeen crus were used in the blend of the Grande Année Rosé 1995, 83% from grand crus and 17% from premier crus.

These were mainly from the villages of Aÿ, Bouzy, Louvois, Verzenay, Mareuil-sur-Aÿ, Mesnil s/Oger, Oger, Cuis, Cramant and Chouilly.

Vintage Year:

"In 1995 a mild wet fall and winter were followed by a generally cool and very rainy spring, though there were great variations between hot and cold days and significant frosts on April 20 and 21, with good weather, finally, from mid-June.

Flowering was late, but, unusually, consistent among the three grape varieties, with the heart of the flowering between June 25 and 27. Above average long hours of sunshine, combined with the effects of Bollinger's green harvest, led to a relatively early harvest, beginning of September 20. The average yield was 11 000 kg per hectare" - Bollinger
