Lanson Gold Label Brut 1993 Champagne
Lanson Vintage Champagne 1993
Gold, bronze and brown hues abound on this bottle to produce a very sumptuous thing of beauty and a smattering of burnished gold reflect the aged quality of the vintage bottle. It becomes a glossy choice that you can’t help indulging in. The overall look is in the Lanson house style, just upgraded a smidge and we like it.
Aha – there’s a tear strip – always a welcome find for thirsty people and oh! Look, the cork just eased itself out, this one simply can’t wait to be tasted!
Mmm, nice aroma, richly roasted, vegetal and mossy with hints of cardoman and all in all, it’s like bread being newly baked. Tell you what, if you’re selling your house and have people around to view, just open a bottle of this and let the aroma work its magic!
OMG! What a taste! Just fruit, intense, plentiful fruit! It’s pineapple upside down cake, it’s the crumble ontop of an apple pud, it’s caramelised goodness, it’s banana cake, it’s gorgeous from the first sip. Orange and lychee jump in, we’ve never tasted a Champagne like it! A deep, brandied smoothness is lifted by a freshness breezing through it, such a rich flavour with a candied lemon finish, like having fine ice cream with fruit.
Overtime, a more zesty lemon comes to the fore, plus honey and more, more, more taste sensations, yummy! - KT
