Champagne House Perrier Jouët has released 1998 vintage Champagne Belle Epoque in the UK

Champagne House Perrier Jouët has just released its 1998 vintage of Perrier Jouët Belle Epoque in the UK, with the official launch for this Champagne at the Royal Opera House in London on Tuesday.

Limited edition gift packs will be available with a bottle the new Belle Epoque Champagne flutes. The flutes, designed by Serena Sutcliffe MW, will also be available to restaurant and hotel customers.

“The 1998 Belle Epoque is an exceptional wine showing complex floral notes, exotic fruit flavours and a persistent acidity through to the finish,” said Ed Penny (senior brand manager for Perrier Jouet at Pernod Ricard), "We wanted to ensure it could be served in the best possible glass - purposefully designed to enhance the elegant and delicate qualities of the wine. I was delighted when Serena agreed to help us with this project."

Perrier Jouët Belle Epoque 1998 is a blend of 51% Chardonnay from Cramant, Avize and Chouilly in the Côte des Blancs, 45% Pinot Noir from Bouzy, Mailly, Verzy, Verzenay and Aÿ and 4 % Pinot Meunier from Dizy and Venteuil in the Vallée de la Marne.

The Champagne is now available from Harrods, Selfridges, Fortnum & Mason, Oddbins and Majestic, and has a RSP of GBP75 (US$130) per bottle.
